Overview of Progress

The Innovations for Climate-smart Urban Development (INCLUDE) project, funded by BMZ and implemented with support from GIZ, promotes locally led climate-smart urban development in Bangladesh. The assignment supports four municipalities: Sirajganj, Gaibandha, Chapainawabganj, and Charghat. Through the Innovation Lab Process, the project helps selected local ideas move from concept refinement into practical implementation. The current assignment focuses on phases 5 and 6 of that process: refinement, development, validation, implementation, and integration of small-scale measures into municipal systems. Twelve innovation lines are being supported across themes such as urban heat resilience, water security, drainage, waste management, health risk reduction, climate-resilient agriculture, digital tools, and inclusive community engagement. The work also emphasizes participation of marginalized and climate-vulnerable groups, including women, youth, elderly people, and people with disabilities. Dorsch Impact and NIRAS support GIZ, LGED, municipalities, idea providers, developer teams, and local partners through coordination, technical inputs, capacity development, partnership building, knowledge management, procurement preparation, progress monitoring, and reporting. This dashboard consolidates project status, milestone progress, idea-wise implementation updates, quarterly progress summaries, deliverables, and expert input planning into one operational view.
